# Integrating with Sitecore CDP

Sitecore CDP captures behavioral and transactional data about users as they interact with an application. To collect this data and send it to Sitecore CDP, you first have to integrate your app with Sitecore CDP.

We recommend that you integrate using the [Sitecore Engage SDK](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/developers/api/stream-api/sitecore-engage-sdk-reference.html "Sitecore Engage SDK reference").

> [!note]
> If your organization has a [JSS Next.js](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/developers/jss/22/jss-sai/javascript-services-sdk--jss--for-next-js.html) or a JSS Angular application connected to SitecoreAI, implement Sitecore CDP\-related functionality on your SitecoreAI site using the [Sitecore Cloud SDK](https://doc.sitecore.com/sdk/en/developers/005/cloud-sdk/sitecore-cloud-sdk-for-javascript.html) instead. See also a [comparison of the Cloud SDK and the Engage SDK](https://doc.sitecore.com/sdk/en/developers/005/cloud-sdk/en/cloud-sdk-comparison-charts.html).

## During integration

During integration, you start collecting and sending real-time [behavioral](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/developers/api/integrating-with-sitecore-cdp/understanding-integration-details/sending-events-using-the-engage-sdk.html "Sending events using the Engage SDK") and [transactional](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/developers/api/integrating-with-sitecore-cdp/understanding-integration-details/sending-orders-using-the-engage-sdk.html "Sending orders using the Engage SDK") data to Sitecore CDP using the Stream API:

For example, the data can include:

- A user's page views.
- A user's clicks, searches, and other actions.
- A user's identifiers when they register or log in.
- Items the user adds to their shopping cart.
- Order details.
- Geolocation details.

## After integration

After integrating, Sitecore CDP starts capturing the behavioral and transactional data from your app. You can then act on that data by:

- [Building segments](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/users/sitecore-cdp/introduction-to-batch-segmentation.html) of your customers using the data you have collected.
- [Activating your audiences](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/users/sitecore-cdp/audience-export.html) in external systems.
- Viewing your data in pre-built analytic [dashboards](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/users/sitecore-cdp/dashboards-in-sitecore-cdp.html).

The topics in this section help you:
