# Delete an API key

> Only Sitecore Cloud Portal team members with the [necessary roles](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/users/sitecore-cdp/developer-center/api-keys/managing-roles-in-sitecore-cloud-portal.html "Managing roles in Sitecore Cloud Portal") can delete API keys.

You can delete an API key when you are certain that no other users need it.

To delete an API key:

1. On the navigation menu, click **Developer Center** > **API keys**. The **API Keys** screen displays.
2. In the API keys table, for the API key that you want to delete, click ![cdp_trashicon.png](https://doc.sitecore.com/api/markdown-image/cdp/en/users/sitecore-cdp/images/cdp_trashicon.png). A confirmation modal displays.
3. Click **Delete**. The API key is deleted.
