# Edit an API key

> Only Sitecore Cloud Portal team members with the [necessary roles](https://doc.sitecore.com/cdp/en/users/sitecore-cdp/developer-center/api-keys/managing-roles-in-sitecore-cloud-portal.html "Managing roles in Sitecore Cloud Portal") can edit API keys.

You can edit an API key when you want to rename it.

To edit an API key:

1. On the navigation menu, click **Developer Center** > **API keys**. The **API Keys** screen displays.
2. In the API keys table, click the name of the API key that you want to rename.
3. Enter a new name and press **Enter**. The API key is renamed.
