Introduction to goals in Sitecore Personalize

Provides an overview of primary and secondary goals that are used to measure variant winners in experiments for (Sitecore Personalize).

You must set a primary goal to measure the success of a variant in analytics. An experiment typically has one main objective, for example, to increase revenue through a customer experience. The main objective is known as the primary goal. Sitecore Personalize uses the metrics of the primary goal to measure variant performance when determining a leading or winning variant.

You might have additional targets you want to achieve in the experiment such as increasing your Click Through Rate (CTR). These are known as secondary goals. Sitecore Personalize does not use any secondary goals as factors when declaring a variant winner. When a variant reaches statistical significance, you can see a message that a winner has been declared.
