# Tenant-specific settings

You can retrieve or update settings for a specific tenant only if you have the necessary permissions and are an *Administrator* or *Owner*.

## Get the default locale setting

Use this method to retrieve the default [locale](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch-one/en/developers/content-hub-one/content-management-api/locales.html "Locales"). In this example, the default locale is `sv-SE`.

## Update the default locale setting

Use this method to update a setting. In this example, the default locale is updated to be `en-US`.

--header 'Authorization: <BEARER_TOKEN>' \
--data '{"localization":
    {"defaultLocale":"en-US"}

```

In this example, the default locale is set to `null`, making the locale no longer the default locale.
