# Edit a media item

You can edit the name and description of any media item as needed.

> Content items that reference or use the media item are shown in the **Used by** section of the details pane. Click a content item in this section to open its details page.

To edit a media item:

1. On the menu bar, click **Media**.
2. On the **Media** page, do one of the following:
    - Click the media item name.
    - Next to the media item you want to edit, click **More actions** ![More actions icon](https://doc.sitecore.com/api/markdown-image/ch-one/en/users/content-hub-one/images/more-actions-chone.png) > **Edit**.
3. On the media item details page, in the **Name** and **Description** fields, enter new values as needed.
4. Click **Save**.
5. Optionally, to publish the media item, click **Publish**. This sets the [status](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch-one/en/users/content-hub-one/content-authoring/manage-media/content-delivery.md "Content delivery") to **PUBLISHED**.
