# JavaScript SDK

To get you started with JavaScript SDK, see:

- [Get started with JavaScript SDK](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/get-started-1523436.html "Get started")
- [Authenticate](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/authentication-1523437.html "Authentication")
- [Get entities](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/entities-client-1523446.html "Entities client")
- [Load configurations](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/load-configurations-1523473.html "Load configurations")

The [API reference](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/overview.html "Overview") provides more information about the classes and the objects used by the JavaScript SDK.

> [!note]
> Examples in the [API reference](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/overview.html "Overview") use strongly defined return types such as `IEntity` and `var`, which is commonly used in JavaScript.

> [!note]
> Guidelines for throttling are available in the [Best practices](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/developers/cloud-dev/throttling.html "Throttling") section of the documentation. The REST API *does not* handle throttling internally and developers need to handle it in their code. In the best practices, you can also find details on when you should use *Scripts* and when you should use Microsoft Azure functionality (in particular, see How to choose the integration tool).
