Highlights of version 3.2.1
The release 3.2.1 of Sitecore Content Hub brings many new features and improvements; this is a list of the major highlights of this version.
Deep Zoom
Deep Zoom is a feature that allows for active viewing of asset previews. It enables users to pan around and smoothly zoom in on large images with a high resolution, without the usual blurring associated with magnifying small previews. It minimizes the time required for the initial loading and displaying of an image to the user.
Dynamic watermarking
Dynamic watermarking allows users to add an additional layer of protection to their assets. The dynamic watermark can be an image or a text, defined by a set of factors and conditions, which is then overlaid on the required assets. In Sitecore Content Hub, the dynamic watermarks can include:
- Username
- Asset name
- Timestamp
- System properties
- Custom Text
The Dynamic watermarking in Sitecore Content Hub produces a non-removable watermark:
Image Merger via public links
The Image Merger via public links is a new feature that allows the chaining of public links to create a single image containing several renditions. This merger makes the task of combining multiple images an easy process. This merger can also play the role of a simple composite asset builder with asset templates:
Dynamic assignees for State flows
It is now possible to dynamically assign users and user groups to state flows. This feature offers increased agility in the workflows through dynamic customization. This can be achieved by including the creator or modifier, or through a relation with the entity linked to the state flow.
Superuser configurability
With unrestricted permissions to system-owned components, superusers can potentially make breaking changes which could break a system feature. In order to protect the system-owned components, while giving superusers enough flexibility to customize their pages, Content Hub provides a new set of restrictions to regulate the page component access.
Drupal Integration
The Drupal Integration adds the flexibility of Drupal to Sitecore Content Hub. Drupal is an open-source Content management platform and development framework. It is implemented in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. Drupal can be used to create and manage many types of Web sites. The major plus points of Drupal is its ability to develop and maintain a wide variety of content types, including but not limited to videos, polls, blogs, podcasts, and statistics. These benefits are now allied to the agility and best-in-class standards of Sitecore Content Hub via the Drupal connector.
