# Add comments to collections

Two reasons for using a collection are sharing content and collaborating with other users through comments.

To add comments to a collection:

1. On the menu bar, click **Collections**.
2. On the **Collections** page, click the collection you want to access.
3. On the collection details page, on the **Comments** tab, do one of the following:
    - To add a new comment, click in the text field.
    - To reply to an existing comment, click **Reply** :mdiReplyOutline:.
4. In the rich text editor, enter a comment and use the toolbar to apply the required formatting:

    | :mdiFormatBold: | **Bold** | Turn bold formatting on or off. Add or remove bold formatting from the selected text. |
    | :mdiFormatItalic: | **Italic** | Turn italic formatting on or off. Add or remove italic formatting from the selected text. |
    | :mdiFormatUnderline: | **Underline** | Turn underlining on or off. Add or remove underlining from the selected text. |
    | N/A | Text style | Change the style of the selected text to:<br><br><ul><li>Normal</li><li>Heading 1</li><li>Heading 2</li><li>Heading 3</li><li>Heading 4</li><li>Heading 5</li><li>Heading 6</li><li>Formatted</li><li>Address</li><li>Normal (DIV)</li></ul> |
    | :mdiFormatListNumbered: | **Numbered List** | Convert the current text element into a numbered list. |
    | :mdiFormatListBulleted: | **Bulleted List** | Convert the current text element into a bulleted list. |
    | :mdiFormatIndentDecrease: | **Decrease indent** | Decrease the horizontal indentation of the current text element by one. |
    | :mdiFormatIndentIncrease: | **Increase indent** | Increase the horizontal indentation of the current text element by one. |
    | :mdiLink: | **Link** | Insert a hyperlink. |
    | :mdiLinkOff: | **Unlink** | Remove a hyperlink. |
    | **body** | **Body** element | Insert an HTML **body**element. |
    | **p** | **P** element | Insert a paragraph marked with an HTML **p**element. |
    | **br** | **Br** element | Insert a line break marked with an HTML **br**element. |

5. Click **Post**.

> Each comment that you have permission to modify has an **Edit** :mdiPencilOutline: button that lets you alter its text or formatting, and a **Delete** :mdiTrashCanOutline: button that lets you permanently remove it.
