# Link a brief to a campaign

A brief provides guidance on the planning and production of campaigns, including primary goals, requirements, intended audience, and key milestones. You can link a brief to a [campaign](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/campaigns.html "Campaigns") for easy access.

> To display the **Briefs** section in the left pane of the campaign details page, add the **[Linked briefs](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/linked-briefs.html "Linked briefs")** page component to the details page alongside the **Entity details** page component. This lets you associate a brief with a campaign. You can also create a new linked brief if required.

To link a brief to a campaign:

1. On the menu bar, click **Campaigns**.
2. On the **Campaigns** page, do one of the following:
    - In the search box, enter a search term for the campaign, and press Enter.
    - Use the filtering and sorting options to find the campaign you want to update.
3. Click the campaign's tile to open its details page.
4. In the left pane, scroll to the **Brief** section and click :mdiPlus: **Add Brief**.
5. In the **Link brief** dialog, click the checkboxes next to those briefs you want to attach to the campaign.
6. Click **Save**.

> If you don't find the brief you are looking for, you can create a new brief by clicking :mdiPlus: **Create new brief** and following the prompts. This opens a new brief details page.
