# Mass edit assets using a template

If you need to make the same changes to multiple assets, you can save time by editing their shared properties in bulk. In Sitecore Content Hub, this is known as mass editing.

A typical use case could be: you're a content administrator working on a high-impact marketing campaign for a new product line. You want to edit a selection of assets to use across various social media ads.

This walkthrough describes how to:

## Create a mass edit template

A template lets you define the field values you want to apply to your assets when mass editing them. You can create different templates to make different changes. The fields you can mass edit are based on the data model of your Content Hub instance.

To create a template:

1. In Content Hub, click **Profile and settings** :mdiAccountCircle: **\>** **Templates** :mdiViewDashboardOutline:.
2. On the **Templates** page, click **\+ Template**.
3. In the **Template** dialog, fill in the fields as needed. In this example, there are four fields available to mass edit, to which you assign the following values:
    - **Title** (mandatory) - *Citrus fruits*
    - **Asset media** - *jpg*
    - **Collection type** - *Campaign*
    - **Social media** - *Pinterest*, *Facebook*, and *Instagram*

If you want to make changes to your template after it's saved, you can edit it from its details page.

To edit your template:

1. On the **Templates** page, find the template you want to modify and click **Rename** :mdiPencilOutline:.
