# Members

Members are the properties and relations that make up an entity definition. These entity definitions, in turn, define the [schema](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/data-model.html "Data model"). You can [create members](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/create-a-member.html "Create a member") and organize them into [groups](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/create-a-member-group.html "Create a member group") based on a related content or functionality.

There are three member types:

- [Property](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/property-members.html "Property members") - a piece of information about the entity, such as a string field or an [option list](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/create-an-option-list.html "Create an option list").
- [Relation](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/relation-members.html "Relation members") - a relation between entities.
- [Taxonomy](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/taxonomy-members.html "Taxonomy members") - the classification of an entity in a [taxonomy](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/create-a-taxonomy.html "Create a taxonomy") item.
