# Task types

You can see all the tasks in a project on the **Tasks** tab where you can use [search and filter capabilities](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/search,-filter,-and-select.md "Search, filter, and select") to, for example, filter on task type. You can also change the layout of tasks and access [standard operations](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/projects-and-jobs-operations.html "Projects and jobs operations").

When managing a project, you can create various types of task.

| Task type | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Annotate | Lets [collaborators](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/use-comments-to-collaborate.html) [annotate](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/create-and-use-annotations.html) :mdiNoteOutline: assets or fragments. With this task type, you attach assets or fragments to the task. If a user cannot select text while annotating a document, the intended text may have been converted to curves, which can happen with PDF files provided for print. |
| Create content | Lets contributors create content (such as assets and fragments) using the :mdiPlus: **Add** menu when [the projects functionality for content](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/enable-projects-for-a-definition.html) is enabled. |
| Download | Lets assigned users download  assets. |
| DRM request | Lets assigned users request permission to download assets under [Digital Rights Management (DRM)](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/request-download-of-restricted-assets.html). |
| Edit content | Lets contributors request an edit on assets, fragments, and CMP content or their associated properties. |
| Global review | Lets project managers initiate a [review](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/review-projects-and-jobs.html) of content with a lifecycle status of *global*. When one of the assigned reviewers completes a *global review* task, it is closed.<br><br>> [!note]<br>> In project management, *global review* tasks have their own approval status, separate from the lifecycle review statuses applied to assets in digital asset management. |
| Localization variant | Lets assigned users see localization-specific information for a selection of assets or content items on the details page. This includes a **Localized from** section that links to the original asset or content item and a **Localized to** section that links to the localized variant. |
| Local review | Lets contributors initiate a [review](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/review-projects-and-jobs.html) of content with a status of *project-specific* or *job-specific*. When an assigned reviewer completes this task, it is closed. |
| Parallel review | Lets contributors initiate a [review](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/review-projects-and-jobs.html) of content while other reviewers perform a similar task on the same content in parallel. When all assigned reviewers finish their respective tasks, the review is closed. A parallel task does not impact the content lifecycle. |
| To do | Lets program managers ask users to do things that do not have a specific task type. |
| Upload version | Lets creators upload :mdiCloudUpload: an updated version of existing assets. |

> [!note]
> [Task types are configurable](https://doc.sitecore.com/ch/en/users/content-hub/customize-task-types.html "Customize task types"). If you have the necessary permissions, you can change the icon and color associated with a task type, rename a task type, and reorder or hide task types.
