Getting Started with Sitecore powered by Microsoft Dynamics

This guide takes you through the steps required to set up the Sitecore Reference Storefront for Sitecore Commerce powered by Microsoft Dynamics (SCpbMD). The guide is broken into the following sections:

  1. Step 1: Set up Sitecore and Commerce Server. This section contains the steps to perform a blank Sitecore set up, and then install and configure Microsoft Dynamics.
  2. Step 2: Install Sitecore Packages. This section contains the Sitecore package installations and configurations needed to set up communication between the website and Commerce Server.
  3. Step 3: Set up a Commerce Server site. This section contains the steps to create and secure the Commerce Server site and import the catalog data for the site.
  4. Step 4: Final Configurations. This section contains the steps to configure your installation.

Each of these sections will take you through a major part of the set up. If you need greater detail on a specific area, please refer to the full Deployment Guide, which is located at: http://commercesdn.sitecore.net/SCpbCS82/SitecoreCommerceDeploymentGuide/en-us/index.html .

Prerequisites:

This guide assumes you are performing a single server installation of all components. The computer for Reference Storefront should only be installed with MongoDB and Microsoft SQL Server.

SCpbMD is dependent on Commerce Server to act as an edge cache for product data from Microsoft Dynamics. Commerce Server provides a number of resources other than Catalog, such as profiles, inventory, and orders, but for the purposes of the SCpbMD integration you can ignore these other resources and any associated documentation.
