Interaction aggregation

Abstract

An overview of the interaction aggregation process.

Interaction aggregation is the process by which interaction data is grouped and reduced into a format that is suitable for reporting. Every time a new interaction is sent to xConnect, an event is added to the interaction processing pool. As interactions make their way through the aggregation pipeline, data is grouped, reduced, and stored in fact tables by interaction processors.

Note

History processing (rebuilding the reporting database) uses the same configuration for facets, dimensions, mappings, and processors as interaction aggregation and performs the same activities.

Omnichannel aggregation

Interactions can come from online or offline channels. The InteractionAggregationPipelineArgs class, which represents the data that is available during aggregation, is not specific to the web.
