# Create a widget variation

In Sitecore Discover, you create a widget variation for all widget types in the same manner. This topic describes how you can create a widget variation for a recommendation widget in the Customer Engagement Console (CEC).

To create a new variation of a recommendation widget:

1. In the CEC, on the menu bar, click **Widgets**.
2. On the **Widgets** tab, click the name of the search results widget you want to open.
3. On the **Widget Variations** tab, click **Add Variation** and in the input text field, enter a name for the new variation that is easy to identify.
4. To make the widget variation the default, turn on the **Make this as a default variation** switch.
5. Click **Save**.
