# Add a widget to or remove a widget from a page

Widgets are dynamic components of pages and can be mixed and matched to customize your site experience. You can add widgets to and delete widgets from pages in the Customer Engagement Console (CEC).

To add a new widget to a page:

1. In the CEC, on the menu bar, click **Pages**.
2. Click on the page you are editing.
3. In **Page Variations**, click the variation you are editing.
4. Click **Select Widgets**.
5. From the widget pane on the right, drag the desired widgets to the pane on the left.

    > You can filter the list of widgets by type by clicking on an icon on the top of the widget pane.

6. (Optional) To reorder widgets on the page, drag the widget cards up or down in the left pane.
7. Click **Save** and then click **Publish**.

To remove a widget from a page:

1. In the CEC, on the menu bar, click **Pages**.
2. Click on the page you are editing.
3. In **Page Variations**, click the variation you are editing.
4. Click **Select Widgets**.
5. Hover over the card for the widget you want to delete.
6. On the right side of the card, click ![garbage_icon_dark.png](https://doc.sitecore.com/api/markdown-image/discover/en/users/discover-user-guide/images/garbage_icon_dark.png).

    > When you click ![garbage_icon_dark.png](https://doc.sitecore.com/api/markdown-image/discover/en/users/discover-user-guide/images/garbage_icon_dark.png), it is replaced by a red dot, indicating that the widget is marked for deletion.

7. Click **Save**, then click **Publish**.
