Configure region specific copies of the Links table

Current version: 10.1

You can configure Content Delivery (CD) roles replicated to distant regions roles to use region-specific copies of the Links database table. You might want to do this to avoid network latency issues in scaled environments. Using region-specific copies of the Links table is not possible if the CD roles are separate publishing targets with individual content.

Each database (Core, Master, Web) stores its own links. However, the Publishing Service does not support multiple Links tables. So you need to reconfigure your Links table to ensure that related items are published.

To reconfigure the Links table:

  1. Open the App_Config\Modules\PublishingService\Sitecore.Publishing.Service.SingleLinkDatabase.config file.

  2. On a Sitecore server with the Publishing Service module installed, check that your Links table is pointed to the correct database and rebuild all link tables from the Control Panel.

  3. In your Publishing Service instance, point the Links table to the same database.

For more information, refer to the Scaled environment considerations section of the Sitecore Publishing Service Installation and Configuration Guide. The guide is available on the Downloads site.
