Edit a rich text field in Horizon

Current version: 10.0

When you edit content in rich text fields, you can benefit from the advanced editing functionalities in the rich text editor.

You use Content to edit content without a style sheet, so the rich text editor in Content applies default style definitions. The editor in Pages applies information from the style sheet for your website, and displays the text as it will appear on your published site.

Note

An item looks different in the Content and Pages rich text editors. This is because Content uses a default style sheet, and Pages uses your website's stylesheets.

To edit a rich text field In Pages:

You can also create links in rich text fields.

You can use keyboard shortcuts in the rich text editor in Content.

The HTML editor tab in Content

In Content, the rich text editor has two tabs. The Visual editor tab is selected by default. On the Visual editor tab, the text looks similar to how it will appear on your website. To view and edit the HTML code for the text, you can click the HTML editor tab.

There are three default HTML classes that you can apply to paragraphs: content-style-minimalcontent-style-standard, and content-style-full. Use the HTML editor in Content to apply these classes to paragraphs. The default appearance of these classes is shown in Content. You can define the classes in the CSS for your website, and then in Pages you can see how the text appears on your website.

Note

The editor does not allow you to use other HTML tags than the ones provided in the drop-down field. Also, you can only use the default classes. If you use tags or classes that are not allowed by the editor, they are removed automatically.
