View reports for an automation campaign

Current version: 10.1

To get an overview of how many contacts are interacting with your automation campaign, you can view the campaign in a reports view. In the reports view, the appearance of each element changes to show the number of contacts that are currently in that state of the automation campaign.

Note

You cannot access the Report View when there is no reporting information available for a campaign (for example, when there are no contacts enrolled in the campaign).

To see the reports for an automation campaign:

  1. On the Marketing Automation dashboard, navigate to and open the relevant automation campaign.

  2. Click Report view to display the number of current and total contacts in the various stages of the campaign.

    Note

The elements on the canvas that no contacts have reached yet do not change in the report view.

  3. To see more detailed information about the contacts in a specific element, click the relevant element on the canvas. This opens the Campaign overview pane to the right:

    The Current contacts section shows:

    • The number of contacts that are currently in this automation campaign.

    • The number of contacts that are currently in the selected element of the automation campaign. For marketing action elements, this number is always zero because the contacts pass through these elements so quickly.

    The Total contacts section shows:

    • The total number of contacts that have ever been enrolled in this automation campaign.

    • The total number of contacts that have ever reached the selected element in the automation campaign.

  4. To view or export the list of contacts that are currently enrolled in the campaign or currently being evaluated by the selected element, in the Campaign overview pane, below the relevant section, click View contacts.

  5. To export the list of contacts to a .csv file, click Export contacts.

    Note

In the Report view, contacts continue to move through the active campaign, so the number of contacts in an element at any one time can change. Therefore, when you export contacts, you are exporting the contacts that are in the element at that exact moment.

  6. To close the reports view for the entire automation campaign, click Report view again.
