# Managing offers in Sitecore Personalize

An offer is a marketing message that contains information that can be presented to a guest in multiple channels.

Interactive experiments and triggered experiments can both serve up offers if you add a [decision model that uses offers](https://doc.sitecore.com/personalize/en/users/sitecore-personalize/introduction-to-decisioning-in-sitecore-personalize/managing-knowledge-sources-in-sitecore-personalize/managing-knowledge-sources-in-sitecore-personalize.html "Managing knowledge sources in Sitecore Personalize") to the experiment.

Web experiments can do this too, but they do not require you to add a decision model to the experiment in order to serve up an offer. You have the option to connect to a knowledge source, then use the decisioning offers loop HTML snippet.

An offer is based off an offer template. You must [create an offer template](https://doc.sitecore.com/personalize/en/users/sitecore-personalize/developer-center/offer-templates/create-an-offer-template.html "Create an offer template") before you can create an offer.
