Add a decision template to the decision canvas

You can add a preconfigured decision to a decision model variant, by using a decision template. You just drag-and-drop a decision template to the decision canvas. Decision templates enable you to use JavaScript in decision model variants without having to edit or look at code.

If the creator of the decision template configured a form to display, you can further configure the decision by completing the form.

To add a decision template to a decision model variant:

  1. From the decision canvas, click and drag the Decision Template component from the palette to the decision canvas.

  2. Place your cursor on the component where it reads the name of the Decision Template.

    The name becomes editable.

  3. Enter a unique name for the Decision.

  4. Click the Edit icon to configure the Decision further.

A new tab displays. If the creator of the Decision Template configured a form, it displays for you to complete. Alternatively, the JavaScript editor displays, if you want to edit or write JavaScript.

  5. Click Save.

Note

If you're a technical user and want to edit the Decision Template, click the Advanced Mode link to access the Decision Template. See Creating Decision Templates for details on how to edit Decision Templates.
