Manage decision model variant audiences
When there is more than one decision model variant in a state of production, you can edit the size of the audience you want the decision model variants to treat. This is the percentage of guests who will be exposed to the decision model variant after the experiment runs.
You can set the audience size of a decision model variant to be as high or low as you like, as long as the combined audience size of all your decision model variant totals 100%.
You can only change the size of the decision model variant when it's in a state of production.
To set the audience size for the decision model variants:
-
On the navigation menu, click Decisioning. A list of all decision models displays.
-
On the Decision Model page, click and drag a decision model variant to the production panel and then click Move to Production.
-
The steps for setting the audience size differ slightly depending on whether any decision model variants are already in a state of production or not:
-
If there are no other decision model variants in production, and you click and drag a decision model variant to the production panel, Sitecore Personalize automatically sets the size of the audience to 100%. You can't alter this size until there's another decision model variant moved to production.
-
If there are at least two decision model variants in production, and you want to edit the audience sizes, click Configure on any decision model variant tile in the production panel.
-
-
In the Configure Variants window, click the up and down arrows to edit the percentage size of the audience for each decision model variant. The percentages determine the portion of your audience that will be exposed to each decision model variant after the experiment runs.
ImportantSitecore Personalize uses the Universal assignment method to distribute audiences across decision model variants, similar to experiments. Each guest is assigned a bucket number based on their
guestRef, ensuring they consistently see the same variant. To test different variants for the same guest, clear cookies or start a new private browsing session. This resets the session, giving the guest a random chance of being assigned to a different decision model variant.
-
If you want to distribute the audience evenly among the decision model variants, click Distribute evenly. The audience size is split evenly among the decision model variants using whole percentages.
NoteAudience distribution is in whole numbers, not decimals.
For example, if you have three decision model variants in a state of production, and you want to split the audience size equally among them, the first decision model variant will be set to 34%, and the two others to 33%, in order to total 100%.
