Start an experience in Sitecore Personalize

After you create an experience, you can set it to immediately run, or schedule it to start and end on a particular date and time. This also includes the option of running the experience indefinitely, with no end date.

You can start an experience from a draft or paused state.

To start or schedule an experience:

  1. On the experience builder, click Start.

  2. To set when the experience starts running, select one of the following radio buttons:

    • Now - the experience will run immediately.

    • Schedule - set a specific start date and time for the experience.

  3. If you selected Schedule in the previous step, additional fields will display.

Click the calendar to select your preferred start date and enter the start time in HH : MM format.

  4. To set when the experience stops running, select one of the following radio buttons:

    • Run Forever - the experience will run indefinitely.

    • End date - set a specific end date and time for the experience.

    Note

Any start or end dates that you set to run the experience are based on your organization's timezone.

  5. Optionally, before running the experience, you might want to go to the Summary pane to check details such as the type of experience and goals.

  6. Click either Start or Schedule based on your selection in step 2.

The status banner will briefly display a Publishing status for the experience before changing to either Live or Scheduled status.

    Note

If you are restarting an experience from a paused state, it can take a few minutes to restart, depending on the edits made. Due to this, you might not see data immediately on the Operational tab for the restarted experience.

  7. In the confirmation dialog, click Done.

When live, personalization is in effect and any experiences can potentially be shown to guests. You can immediately see operational data for the experience, and within 24 hours, you can view how the experience is performing.
