# Install the Content SDK CLI

The Content SDK CLI provides several [commands for interacting with Content SDK apps](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/developers/content-sdk/20/cli-commands-and-configuration.html "CLI commands and configuration"). Installing this tool globally lets you use those commands while developing any Content SDK apps on your local device, for example while scaffolding new components.

To install the Content SDK CLI:

1. Run the following command:

    ```text
    npm install -g @sitecore-content-sdk/cli
    ```

2. To verify the installation, run either of the following commands:
