Configure base templates for a data template

A template inherits sections and fields from its base templates. When there are several base templates associated with a data template, fields and sections from inherited templates are merged.

To configure the base templates for a data template:

  1. In the Template Manager or the Content Editor, select a data template.

  2. On the Builder OPTIONS tab, on the ribbon, in the Template group, click Base Templates.

  3. In the Base Templates dialog box, select the base templates you want to use, and click OK.
