# A/B/n test statuses

An [A/B/n test](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/a-b-n-testing.html "A/B/n testing") can be in one of five statuses, each indicating its current stage in the experiment workflow. These statuses tell you whether the A/B test can still be edited, set to live, or ended. You can open the test and view its status in the Page builder, in the right-hand pane below the test's name.

A test can have one of these statuses:

- *Draft* - when a test is initially [created](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/a-b-n-testing/get-started-with-a-b-n-testing/create-an-a-b-n-test.html "Create an A/B/n test"), Sitecore automatically assigns it this status. A draft test is editable.
- *Pending* - this status appears after you [start a test](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/a-b-n-testing/get-started-with-a-b-n-testing/start-an-a-b-n-test.html "Start an A/B/n test"). It remains in this status until you publish the page that includes it.
- *Live* - a test is in this status when it is running on the page, and any variants can potentially be shown to visitors.
- *Ended* - this status appears after you [end a live test](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/a-b-n-testing/get-started-with-a-b-n-testing/end-an-a-b-n-test.mdd "End an A/B/n test"). After republishing, the page will keep only the selected variant, and all visitor traffic will be redirected to it.
