# Move an item through the workflow

An item that is subject to a workflow must go through all the workflow's mandatory states before you can publish it.

In Page builder **Editor** mode, you can see the current workflow state of the item in the top right corner, unless the item is ready to be published, in which case you see the **Publish** button.

To move the item to the next workflow state:

1. In the top right corner, click **Actions**.

2. Click **Approve** or **Reject**.
3. In the **Comment** field, enter a comment if you want to.
4. Click **Submit** to move the item through the workflow.

When the item is in the last workflow state, you can publish the item.
