# Create a form

A form that is integrated into your website or landing page content can grab your visitors' attention. The form is usually embedded within a page created in the Page builder and appears as a simple box or button that visitors can click to access the form.

> To create and edit forms, you must have the [Advanced User](https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/developers/xm-cloud/en/creating-users-in-sitecoreai.html) or [Admin](https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/developers/xm-cloud/en/the-security-roles.html) role. Contact your system administrator to request the [access rights](https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/developers/xm-cloud/en/assign-access-rights-to-a-security-account.html) as needed.

To create a form:

1. On the **Forms** dashboard, in the top right-hand corner, click **Create form**.
2. The form editor opens and you can start [designing your form](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/designing-forms.html "Designing forms").

    Choose between a variety of different [layouts](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/designing-forms/work-with-form-layouts.html "Work with form layouts") and items, adjust the [general form settings](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/styling-forms/customize-the-style-of-a-form.html "Customize the style of a form"), and [add more pages](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/designing-forms/work-with-multiple-form-pages.html "Work with multiple form pages").

3. When you have finished designing, [save your form](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/saving-a-form.html "Saving a form").

    If you click **Save and exit**, you'll be prompted to set up a webhook before proceeding. You can choose one of the following options:

    - **Proceed** - you will need to [set up a webhook](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/edit-form-settings/work-with-webhooks.html#UUID-476cac12-19a1-ae05-d060-f3654011b459_section-idm4541426715704033938470461242 "Create a webhook") later. The form is saved, and the editor closes.
    - **Set up a webhook** - the **Settings** page opens. Fill in the fields:
        - **Name** - enter a name for your form.
        - **Choose webhook** - click the field and select a webhook from the list or click **Manage Webhooks** to [create a new webhook](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/edit-form-settings/work-with-webhooks.html#UUID-476cac12-19a1-ae05-d060-f3654011b459_section-idm4541426715704033938470461242 "Create a webhook").
        - **Choose submit action** - click the field and select an action from the list. You can choose between **None**, **Redirect to a URL**, or **Show message** (you can change the default message).
        - **Fail message** - enter a text to display if the action is unsuccessful (you can change the default message).

When you're happy with your form, you can [activate](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/design-components/forms/activate-a-form.html "Activate a form") it.
