# Edit a brief

You can edit a [smart brief](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/plan-campaign-strategy/managing-briefs/create-a-smart-brief.html "Create a smart brief") that you created on the **Briefs** page or a brief that you [generated and published](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/plan-campaign-strategy/using-the-brand-assistant/generate-a-campaign-brief.html "Generate a campaign brief") from the Brand Assistant.

Editing lets you refine goals, update audience information, adjust messaging, or attach new resources as campaign plans evolve.

To edit a smart brief:

1. In the navigation menu, click **Strategy**. Then, in the left sidebar, select **Briefs**.
2. In the list of available briefs, click the brief you want to edit.
3. On the brief details page, to edit the brief's name, click it at the top of the page, type a new name, and press Enter.
4. Edit the required [fields](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/plan-campaign-strategy/managing-briefs/managing-briefs.html "Managing briefs") for the brief. You can use the buttons on the toolbar to format text if needed.
5. Optionally, for fields that support AI, use the [AI Assistant](https://doc.sitecore.com/sai/en/users/sitecoreai/plan-campaign-strategy/managing-briefs/generate-brief-content-using-ai.html "Generate brief content using AI") to generate text:
    - Click the **AI Assistant** icon :mdiStarFourPoints{color="#5319E0"}: on the toolbar.
    - Enter a prompt describing what you want.
    - Click **Send** :mdiSend: to generate a draft.
    - If needed, refine the prompt and regenerate until satisfied.
    - When you're happy with it, click **Accept** to insert the AI-generated text into the field.
6. Optionally, for the **Timeline** field, use AI to build the timeline:
    - Click :mdiStarFourPoints{color="#5319E0"}: **AI Suggestions**. AI will generate milestones based on the brief content.
    - Review the suggestions and regenerate if needed.
    - Click **Accept** to insert the timeline into the field.
7. To upload media items, click :mdiTrayArrowUp: **Upload**.
8. Click **Save**.
