# Querying without a keyphrase

The most basic request you can send Sitecore Search is a query without a key phrase. You only require the [mandatory](https://doc.sitecore.com/search/en/developers/search-developer-guide/integrating-using-rest-apis/using-the-search-and-recommendation-api-to-create-search-experiences/calling-the-search-and-recommendation-api.html#UUID-90f1e35c-1e81-b7fe-0449-7caa2006c58d_section-idm1823331597240184 "Mandatory objects") objects to request content.

The following code sample shows how to create a simple request:
