# Log in and add users

Before you begin the [get started walkthrough series](https://doc.sitecore.com/search/en/users/search-user-guide/get-started.html "Get started"), you need to log in. How you do this depends on whether Search has been activated in the Sitecore Cloud Portal for your organization.

To log in and add users through the Cloud Portal:

- In an Internet browser window, go to [these instructions](https://doc.sitecore.com/portal/en/developers/sitecore-cloud-portal/en/log-in-to-the-sitecore-cloud-portal.html).

To log in *without* a Cloud Portal account and add users:

- In an Internet browser window, go to [the sign in page](https://cec.sitecorecloud.io/home) then [add users](https://doc.sitecore.com/search/en/users/search-user-guide/administer-your-installation/managing-roles-in-sitecore-search/add-or-remove-a-user.html "Add or remove a user").
