Work with relationship definitions
The Relationships Definitions business tool enables you to create custom relationships, such as upsell or cross-sell relationships, between catalogs, categories, and sellable items.
You must be assigned to the Relationship Administrator role to create a relationship definition.
Create a relationship definition
To create a relationship definition:

In the Business Tools, in the left navigation pane, click Relationship Definitions to open the Relationship Definitions dashboard,

In the Entities section, click a relationship type.

In the Relationship Definitions section of the relationship entity details page, click +.

In the Add Relationship Definition dialog box, enter a name and display name. The description is optional.

In the Target Type drop-down list, click the target type.

If you want a list of related entities to be automatically rendered on the Merchandising dashboard for a catalog, category, or sellable item, choose Render List Automatically.
Associate a catalog, category, or sellable item to a relationship definition
The following task uses the example of associating a catalog with a category. To associate a category or sellable item to a relationship, go to the details page of a category or sellable item.
To associate a catalog to a relationship:

In the Catalogs section of the Merchandising dashboard, click the name of a catalog.

If the Render List Automatically check box was chosen when a relationship was created, a section with the display name of that relationship is displayed at the bottom of the catalog details page.

Click the name of a relationship, and then click Associate.

In the ID field, type a word from the display name of the category, and then in choose a category on the drop-down list.
