Add a language version to an existing storefront site

Current version: 9.2

When you use the Create a new SXA site dialog box to create a storefront site with the Storefront site template, you can include one or more pre-translated languages in addition to English.

You can also add a new language to an already existing site that was created with the Storefront site template. When you do this, Sitecore adds a language version of each item from the template, and includes translated default content.

To add a language version to an existing site:

  1. In the Content Editor, right-click the site and click Scripts, Add Site Module.

    Note

Do not use the Add a Language script to add a language to a site created with the Storefront site template. Only use this method to add a language version to an SXA site that was created without Commerce Storefront modules. It will not include the translated default content that comes with the SXA Storefront site template.

  2. Select the language or languages that you want to add and click OK.

The selected languages are added to the current storefront site.

  3. Publish the changes to the storefront site.

Warning

Any changes or additions that you make to the site have to be replicated in each language version. For example, if you add a component to the English version of a page, no change is made automatically to the other versions of the page - you must add the component to each version. Default translations are included with the component, but if you make changes to the English text, you have to translate the changes.
