Creating a JSS app for XM Cloud

Version: 22.x

To get started with JSS, you need to create an app.

Before you begin
  • Confirm that you have all of the prerequisites to work with JSS.

You can create a JSS app as follows:

  • When you set up an XM Cloud instance, a headless app is generated automatically in the specified source control repository, letting you clone it to your local machine. Among other things, this repository includes your JSS app with various default settings that you can modify as needed.

  • You can also build a JSS app locally based on the framework of your choice. You can then use this app to replace the one generated by XM Cloud. Doing this gives you more initial control over certain aspects of the app, such as choosing options for prerendering. It also lets you create an app based on a newer version of JSS than your current project.

When you have your local app, you need to connect it to your XM Cloud instance using environment variables. You also need to install the JSS CLI, which provides various commands for using your JSS apps.
