Tracking

Version: 0.5

Tracking is the process of capturing events in response to site visitors' actions. The captured event data is sent to Sitecore and becomes available in the various Sitecore DXP products your organization has access to.

To track site visitors' behavior as they interact with your site, you can use the Cloud SDK events package. To set up tracking in your app, see Getting started with the Cloud SDK. We recommend that you get started by setting up VIEW events.

Real-time, unified tracking

The Cloud SDK unifies tracking into a single implementation: you set up tracking for an event once in your app, and then events will be captured on your site in real time, as they occur. Then, every time an event is sent, the collected event data automatically becomes available in XM Cloud, Sitecore CDP, Sitecore Personalize, and Sitecore Search. This data can be used to drive web analytics, segmentation, personalization, and more.

Events are sent to Sitecore DXP products depending on the event type and the event payload.
