Add a media file to a page

With the page builder, you can insert a media file in a page by using a Rich Text component.

When inserting a media item on a page in Pages, the following format are supported: .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png, .svg, .bmp, .ico, .webp.

Note

To enable the latest rich text editing capabilities, a developer needs to upgrade your environment to JSS 21.5.2 or a later version, and you need to add PAGES_ENABLE_NEW_RTE_EDITOR as a new environment variable in the Deploy app.

To add a media file to a webpage:

  1. In the page builder Editor mode, in the Site tree, click the page you want to add a table to.

  2. On the Components tab, click on a Rich Text component and drag it onto the canvas of the webpage.

  3. Click in the component to make the text editor toolbar appear, then click Select media .

  4. In the Add an image dialog, click on the file you want to insert in the Rich Text component, then click Add Selected. Alternatively, click Upload media to upload a new media file to your Media library.

  5. Use the media toolbar to perform additional formatting of the file.

The configuration settings available for media files are:

  • Change image text alternative

  • Toggle caption on and enter an image caption below the media file.

  • Inline, centered, or side image placement

  • Add a link URL to the image, and set it up to open in a new page.
