Configuring components

Note

This topic explains how to configure components previously built with Content Editor. If you want to learn about components built with XM Cloud Components instead, visit the XM Cloud Components documentation.

In the XM Cloud Pages Editor mode, on the Components tab, you can access built-in components that are used as building blocks for your page's layout. These components have multiple origins:

  • Some have been built in Components, usually by a designer, or have been registered by a developer to be included in the components library. You can learn how to configure and style them in the XM Cloud Components documentation.

  • Some have been built in Forms. You can learn more about forms here.

  • Some have been built as renderings in the Content editor, usually by a developer. They are called SXA components, and this section describes how you can configure the one used to define a page's layout.

You can configure each component according to the settings available in the right-hand pane of the editor when you select the component. A non-exhaustive set of commonly used configurable settings are described in this section.
