Configuring components

Note

This topic explains how to configure components previously built with Content Editor. If you want to learn about components built with XM Cloud Components instead, visit the XM Cloud Components documentation.

XM Cloud Pages comes with some built-in components that are used as building blocks for your page's layout. Additional custom components can be added to your Components library by a developer.

The components built-in XM Cloud Pages Components tab are:

  • Image - adds an image that you select from the Media library to a page.

  • Link List - displays lists with items that contain a title, link, and text.

  • Navigation - generates a navigation menu.

  • Page Content - displays the specific fields on a page from the data source item that you select.

  • Promo - renders a field from another page and works as a placeholder for other components. It consists of an icon or a title and links.

  • Rich Text - adds formatted text on a page. You can write text using HTML tags.

  • Title - displays the title or subtitle of the current page.

  • Container - adds additional CSS styling using a wrapper for other components.

  • Column and Row Splitter - divides the pages into columns and rows.

Each component can be configured according to the settings available in the right-hand pane of the editor when that component is selected. A non-exhaustive set of commonly used configurable settings are described in this chapter.
