Tag pages and content items
Describes how to create tags, assign tags to content items, and filter the Content explorer using tags.
In XM Cloud Pages, you can categorize items or pages by tagging them. Using tags can help you to find items or pages quickly. Tags are site-specific.
In the Pages or Content view, tags are available in the right-hand pane of the editor, under the Details section. Tags already assigned to a page are in the grey field. Tags already existing for the website selected on the global toolbar are below the search field.

Create a new tag
To create a new tag:
On the Pages tab, in the right-hand pane, click the Tags field to open a Search tags field.
In the Search tags field, enter the characters you want to use for your tag. A tag must be from 1 to 25 (inclusive) characters long and can contain letters, numbers, and spaces.
The existing tags starting with the characters you entered are shown in the drop-down menu. Keep adding characters until your tag name is unique.
When you have entered a unique tag name, press Create tag. The tag is automatically assigned to the page or item that was currently open.
Assign a tag to an existing item
You can assign up to 20 tags per item.
To add a tag to a page or an item:
On the Pages tab, in the Add tags field in the right-hand pane, enter the characters of the tag you want to use.
The existing tags starting with the characters you entered are shown in the drop-down menu. Click the appropriate tag.
Remove a tag
To remove a tag assigned to a page or an item:
Click the cross located to the right of the tag you want to remove.
