Work with basic items

Basic items are items that the user cannot interact with. You can add the following types of basic fields: Image, Text, Spacer, and Social Media.

Add an image item

The image item allows you to add an image to your form, as one item in the layout of the form. You can also add an image as background to the entire form.

To add an image item:

  1. In the form editor, in the left pane, on the Items tab, expand the Basic section and click Image.

  2. Drag the image item to an empty layout.

  3. Double-click the image item to open the image picker. Alternatively, drag your image into the item.

  4. In the right pane, you can edit your image.

Edit an image item

To edit an image item:

  1. In the editing area, click the image to display the Image configuration options in the right pane.

  2. You can change the following:

    • Change the background color, border width and color, alignment, padding, image height and width, and border radius.

    • Set a URL link and enter an alternative text (Alt text) to be displayed if the image cannot be displayed.

    • Crop your image and adjust its size.

    • Change your image to choose a different image using the image picker.

    • Remove your image.

Add a text item

The text item allows you to add a text to your form, for example, to encourage the visitor to fill in the form.

To add a text item:

  1. In the editor, in the left pane on the Items tab, expand the Fields section and click Text.

  2. Drag and drop the text item to an empty layout.

  3. Click the text item to enter your text.

    Note

    When pasting text, we recommend that you paste in plain text format (use CTRL+Shift+V) to avoid any problems displaying the text properly or fixing unwanted formatting.

  4. In the text toolbar, you can use the editing options, as well as:

    • Check spelling - click to set the dictionary language for spell check.

    • Edit the source code - click to open a dialog where you can edit the HTML source code of your text. You can use this, for example, when you manually change the font weight.

    • Insert a link - select the part of the text that you want to use as a link. Click and fill out the details in the Insert/Edit Link dialog.

  5. To configure the item, in the right-hand Text pane, you can:

    • Change the background color, shadow, padding, as well as border width, color, and radius.

    • Use custom fonts - add a custom font in the editor settings and use it in your form.

Add a spacer item

The spacer item adds space or a line between items in your landing page.

To add a spacer item:

  1. On the landing page editor, in the left pane on the Items tab, expand the Basic section and click Spacer.

  2. Drag the spacer item to an empty layout.

  3. In the right-hand pane, configure the item with background color, shadow, height (in pixels), as well as border width, color, and radius.

Add a social media item

The social media item lets your recipients follow your social media accounts.

To add the social media item:

  1. On the landing page editor, in the left pane on the Items tab, expand the Basic section and click Social Media.

  2. Drag the social media item to an empty layout.

  3. In the right-hand pane, under Social Settings, insert your social media URL in the relevant fields.

Move an item

To move an item:

  1. In the editing area of the form editor, hover your mouse over an item to display the Actions menu:

  2. Click Move and drag the item to a different row in the editing area.

Delete an item

You can delete items from a form.

To delete an item:

  • On the Items tab, clear the item check box.

    Or

  • In the editing area, click the item you want to delete, then in the Actions menu, click Remove .

Note

After you have deleted an item, you can add it again.
