Patching Sitecore Commerce Engine Connect configuration

We recommend that you use a patch file to make configuration changes to Sitecore Commerce Engine Connect instead of making changes directly in the default configuration files. This recommendation applies to all default configuration files located in the <sitecore>\App_Config\Include\Y.Commerce.Engine folder.

When you install Sitecore XC, the SIF process creates a folder named CustomCommerce to keep custom configuration separately from Sitecore CE Connect default configuration. You must always store your CE Connect related patch files in the CustomCommerce folder in the location:

 <sitecore>\App_Config\Include\Y.Commerce.Engine\CustomCommerce\ 

The Custom.Commerce.Engine.Connect.config file

When you install Sitecore Experience Commerce (XC), the deployment process creates a patch file named CustomCommerce\Custom.Commerce.Engine.Connect.config. This patch file stores CE Connect input parameters that you specify during deployment. You use this patch file to make additional changes to CE Connect configuration.
