New website

November 28, 2018

Sitecore has a brand new documentation website! We hope you will like the improvements.

If you have any suggestions about how to further enhance our documentation site, please let us know.

All the content in one place

You no longer have to go to different sites to find documentation for different components or different versions. Everything is available on our new site.

Sections for business users and developers

We've divided our content into information for business users, and more technical information for developers and IT pros. You can switch from one section to the other if you need to, and some topics contain links from developer information to business user information, and vice versa.

Landing pages for each version

The sections for developers and business users each have individual landing pages for versions 8.1, 8.2, 9.0, and 9.1. You'll also find links to documentation about the modules that are relevant for each version, such as SXA, cloud components, and connectors. For documentation about versions 6.x and 7.x, go to the Earlier versions landing page.

New search engine

The new search engine lets you search across all content on the site. You can filter your search to show only developer or business user information. You can also filter by product/component and by version.

Table of contents

To make it easier to browse the content that's available for each component, we've added a table of contents. Click the arrows to expand the menu and get an overview of what's in each section.

Things we're still working on

We still have a number of improvements that we want to make to the site and the content:

  • Adding re-directs If you've bookmarked or linked to content on the old documentation site, we know it's frustrating that these links are broken. Our "intelligent" 404 page should give you some suggestions about where to find the content you need, and we'll add some specific re-directs over time.
  • Blank "title" pages When you're browsing through the content, you might come across a few empty pages that only contain a title. Click the table of contents to see all the topics that are available in these sections. We'll get these empty pages fixed as soon as we can.
