The following table lists new features and improvements made in Sitecore Experience Commerce (SXC) 10.2.

| Area | Change | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Deployment | Improvement | To align with the corresponding items as resource feature added in Sitecore XP 10.1, Sitecore XC 10.2 delivers default commerce items as resources files. Items as resources improve the upgrade experience by storing default content items outside of the database.

Link to documentation:

[Upgrade Guide for XC 10.1 to 10.2 for On Premises](https://dev.sitecore.net/Downloads/Sitecore_Commerce/102/Sitecore_Experience_Commerce_102.aspx)

[Commerce items as resources](https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/developers/102/sitecore-experience-commerce/commerce-items-as-resources.html)

|
