# Device Detection

The Device Detection role is a SaaS Cloud service that provides continuously updated information on hardware based on User Agent string. Sitecore v9 and up uses the data vendor 51 Degrees, previous versions used Netbiscuits.

## Supported infrastructure

The Device Detection role is a SaaS Cloud service and has no requirements on solution infrastructure.
