# Configure xDB Collection providers

By default, Sitecore uses the SQL xDB Collection provider. In Sitecore 9.0 Update 2 to version 10.0, you can also use the MongoDB xDB Collection provider. For information on how to set up the MongoDB provider, refer to the [installation guide](https://dev.sitecore.net/Downloads/Sitecore_Experience_Platform/) for your version of Sitecore.
