# Updating Core roles

We recommend that you upgrade Core roles by redeploying the new version, together with any changes you might have, using either [Sitecore Installation Framework](https://dev.sitecore.net/Downloads/Sitecore_Installation_Framework.aspx) or containers.

We do not recommend that you enable the login and administration interfaces on your Core roles even if you find resources online that make this technically possible.
