# IP info facet

<details>

Format in Sitecore 8.x

In Sitecore 8.x, settings that store information about the location of the visitor are associated with the interaction. Most of the information is stored in a property named `GeoData` on the interaction. Some of the information is stored directly on the interaction.

The following is an example of an interaction with the `GeoData` property:

```csharp
"GeoData" : {
    "AreaCode" : "N/A",
    "BusinessName" : "The Garrison",
    "City" : "Birmingham",
    "Country" : "GB",
    "Dns" : "N/A",
    "Isp" : "Birmingnet",
    "Latitude" : 52.489471,
    "Longitude" : -1.898575,
    "MetroCode" : "N/A",
    "PostalCode" : "7DA",
    "Region" : "B4",
    "Url" : "N/A"
},
"Ip" : { "$binary" : "fwAAAQ==", "$type" : "00" },
"Language" : "en",
```

<details>

Format in Sitecore 9

In Sitecore 9, visitor location information is associated with an interaction through an interaction facet:

|     |     |
| --- | --- |
| Facet Name | `IpInfo` |
| Facet Type | `Sitecore.XConnect.Collection.Model.IpInfo` |
