# Configure publishing targets

The Experience Edge Connector requires a publishing target to publish to Experience Edge.

To create a publishing target:

1. In the Content Editor, in the content tree, navigate to */sitecore/system/Publishing targets*. Right-click **Publishing targets** and click **Create a new publishing target**.
2. In the **Data** section, in the **Target database** field, enter the name of the connection string you created [previously](https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/developers/hd/20/sitecore-headless-development/install-and-configure-the-experience-edge-connector.html "Install and configure the Experience Edge Connector").
3. Select the **Publish to Experience Edge** check box.
