Database upgrades

Current version: 8.2

The Commerce Server Upgrade wizard controls the upgrades to databases. The Upgrade wizard has the option of being run automatically after installation, or run independently later.

The Upgrade wizard will connect to the admin database, search for all of the Commerce Server Sites and their subsystems, and check if the databases schemas have been updated. If databases are found with out-of-date schemas, you can choose to update some or all of the databases. The Upgrade wizard will update all schemas and preserve all data.

The Commerce Server Core .dlls enforce the minimum database schema versions to use. If you install a new version of Commerce Server onto one server in the server farm, and then run the Upgrade wizard to update the databases, all of the other servers in the server farm will probably be broken until the same version of Commerce Server has been installed on them.
