Journey Builder

Sitecore’s Experience Database collects a large amount of behavioral data relating to how your users interact with your websites and other channels. Once it's been collected, that data can be leveraged to influence future interactions with those users. Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s Journey Builder allows marketers to orchestrate user journeys across channel ensuring that a user gets the right message at the right time. When the two are combined, this allows a marketer to leverage the combined data sets of Journey Builder and xDB to provide exactly the right message at the right time.

The integration between Sitecore and Journey Builder is based on making lists and segments that have been created in Sitecore available in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, as data extensions.

Once the data is available in Marketing Cloud it can be used to:

  • Enroll a contact in a Journey Builder journey.

  • Influence which path a contact takes within a journey.

  • Remove a contact from a journey.
